The A.I. McDermott Co., Inc. was recently appointed an authorized, stocking distributor for the Whitewater Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU) for Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and Northern Illinois.
The Whitewater ATU, manufactured by Delta Environmental a division of Pentair Water, is a proven solution for on-site wastewater treatment and disposal for homes and businesses not served by municipal sewer systems. The Whitewater DF Series is ANSI/NSF certified and approved for use in the State of Wisconsin by the Wisconsin Dept of Commerce.
The Whitewater DF Series ATU uses an air compressor to feed air into a large fiberglass vessel with an outer mixing tank and a cone-shaped settling chamber. The air promotes the growth of the naturally occurring bacteria in the on-site waste stream that in turn treats the wastewater and prepares it for drainfield disposal.
The Whitewater DF Series comes in multiple sizes and is able to treat wastewater flows from 500 to 1500 gallons per day. Because of the DF Series' advanced treatment of the wastewater, the system is approved in Wisconsin for a drainfield downsizing credit. Drainfield downsizing can be a benefit in allowing a system to be installed in challenging terrain and on small lots. Plus, downsizing may improve a property's aesthetics by reducing the size of the system's drainfield or mound.
